I am 15, and a “Playground Aide” for 5-12 year olds this summer. We have about 6 sites, with 60 kids each. At my site, we have a staff meeting tomorrow for activity planning. I started today, and it went horrible, so we want more structure.

Let me remind you, this is GOVERNMENT FUNDED. The fee for the camp is $20 for 6 weeks, M-F, 9-3. We have NO BUDGET. We have some sports equipment and basic art supplies.

Anyone have any ideas for things we could do in the following categories. I’ve never been a parent, and have no idea what enterntains kids.

I’ve found a great building but there will be nowhere for an outdoor playground.

My neighborhood requires a due of $75 quarterly. There is a playground and a clubhouse, but the clubhouse has been under construction for 2 years and no one has been able to use it. The only upkeep I’ve seen since I’ve moved in is a couple of new pieces of playground equipment and they mow the playground. *(my daughter had a really bad monkey bar injury last week, and while of course i’m not going to ban my kids from using the monkey bars, i secretly wish i could. heavens, i suddenly hate those things. as if i didn’t have enough neuroses already.)
