How come kids don’t play on wood and steel playground equipment like we did when we were kids ?

Wood gives slivers and hot metal hurts.
they are a lot smarter then we were.
The kids to get splinters or burn their butt.
i don’t remember playing on steel….that sounds dangerous

We are all too wrapped in cotton wool these days.
because now they have to be friendly and use plastic which can still get hot but just not as hot
Now they make big kid playgrounds. Bedroom Swings mounted over your bed.
