Where can I see old Mcdonald’s Outdoor Playground equiptment?

Monday, October 11th, 2010
Jo March asked:

Not the tubes and ball pits, the really old stuff from the 80s, like the twisty slide and merry-go-round.

Is there a website that has pictures of it, or even better, a place in the US that maintains it? (we used to have a school in our town that had the old equipment but they’ve gotten rid of it)

Discribe the Playgrounds in your mind?

Monday, October 11th, 2010
asked:

Discribe the place in your mind where no one else can go (at least as best you can)
The place where no one is able to interfere with the outcome of your intentions.

Discribe the playground toys and equipment,
Our minds are such delicate things and yet so capable of great and complicated matters.

If you have a response to this and want to share please do so.
It is an open conversation.

What is the merry-go-round’s angular velocity, in rpm, after John jumps on?

Sunday, October 10th, 2010
Aislinn asked:

A merry-go-round is a common piece of playground equipment. A 3.0-m-diameter merry-go-round with a mass of 250 kg is spinning at 20 rpm. John runs tangent to the merry-go-round at 5.0 m/s, in the same direction that it is turning, and jumps onto the outer edge. John’s mass is 30 kg.

What is the merry-go-round’s angular velocity, in rpm, after John jumps on?

What is your kid’s favorite/favourite piece of playground equipment?

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010
pdooma asked:

What was yours when you were a kid?

My kid is all about the slides. The bigger and twistier the better.

I loved swings (still do!). It’s such a shame so many communities and schools are taking them down because of insurance/law suits. So much fun, especially the big commercial height ones vs the backyard playground ones.
OOh The Merry Go Rounds are cool too - most of them are gone now as well. Stupid lawsuits. I liked to lay on them and hang my head over the side upside down so I could see the world whirling by.
I’d suppose I’d “lie” on them instead of lay. Reading back and wanting to correct my grammar. Begging all of your pardons.
Actually, I used to be able to go back and forth pretty easily since I grew up living in a bunch of ex-British colonies. I can drive on the left, too!

What do you think my dream meant?

Monday, October 4th, 2010
welcome2myworld_clf88 asked:

I was around 14 or so and had this horrible reoccuring dream for a couple weeks of a black panther chasing me on a school playground. I was always the only kid there and it was never fully light or dark outside. It was extremely odd though, as the dream played out it was as if it were one of those slow-motion life-story recalls…if you know what I mean…it would flash in black and white, if I recall correctly…

I always started out on the ground and noticed the panther. I then started to run to the playground equipment for elevation and safety. The panther then runs full force at me, but doesn’t growl or make any noises. It starts to follow me, walkinig across the monkey bars, and by this time I’m already off the playground and running for a random brick building by the school. The panther chases me all the way to the building door, but I’m safe inside and the dream ends with me looking all around this empty room.

Interpretations on what this dream may have meant?

Child pushes my child off of playground equipment and now has a broken arm, are his parents responsible?

Sunday, October 3rd, 2010
klwoodson asked:

At recess at school my child and 2 other children was playing, she was on a ladder trying to climb up and a boy pushed her by her face and she fell 4 1/2 ft and broke her arm. Should his parents be responsible for the hospital bills?
BTW: the boy is 7 who pushed my daughter and the school hasn’t done anything to him.
I am not really worried about suing, I just know that if the role was reversed and my daughter pushed a child off of playground equipment then I would have least offered to pay for the medical attention. The other parents haven’t even called to check in on her.
